I get the feeling Rosich knows like 5 people in the football industry.

I like Peter Bell, I think he would do a good job with the right skillset but he's got no football coaching experience, no managerial experience and he's been out of football for a decade.

And giving a key job to a sitting board member without a formal application process. Good Lord that's some bad organisational practice.

Memory is not what it used to be. Someone can correct me but wasnt Belly involved/main instigator in the player led dispute about game style some years ago. They had a big get together and won a lot of games straight in a much more attacking game style. Rick Hart Im pretty sure told me as much at the Must Wine bar one evening many moons ago. If so, Belly may be just the chap to iron out a few kinks in Rolys game plan.

I tend to agree with Shane about the appointment, but one of the perceived issues at Freo was that no-one had the ego to look Lyon in the eye and tell him he was wrong.

I don’t think we have that problem anymore, albeit Bell will probably be looking eye-to-neck.

Bell will be popular with supporters, but whether he's any good, is another thing. It does sound like Freo took the easy option, because there wasn't another one.

I'm in two minds about this as I'm not sue the Bell has the experience that's needed in that position.

My preference would have been somebody from outside the club to bring both experience and a fresh perspective. My concern is we may get a bit more of the same by remaining within our own limited circle.

I think we may be missing the chance to get fresh ideas from outside the club
