Interesting the King brothers are from the same school as Andy Brayshaw.. hopefully they are good mates and he can make one of them feel right at home here

You have to take the talls when they are there.. could be the best ones for a while in this draft

In the scenario where we have 3 top 6 picks, sure! With picks 5 and 6 I don't think we'll get the talls we need so we're going to have to grab mids. Rankine as a half forward like Sonny who can push into the midfield, is someone I do like the potential of.

Fingers crossed Carlton, Suns x2 and the Dogs don't take the 3 good talls available before our pick if we had Brissy's selection.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

Think you mean Saints, not bulldogs, they are after us.
I can see a real chance that Carlton & the saints take the Two mids, GC take the King brothers and we get end up with Lukosius and Rankine.

Assuming of course that we do trade Neale for picks 4 & 22 (player chucked in would be cream on top)

Rankine and a King would be an amazing outcome. Rankine and Sonny in the same in the same forward line feeding off a 200cm key forward would be a joy to watch. Rankine is the excitement machine of this draft and will have an immediate impact. If we lose Neale and gain Izak, it'll be lachie who within 12 months. Plenty of highlight vids on the web.

Rankine and Ben King Would be my dream scenario too.. i would be happy with any of these.. I’m a little worried about Max King because of the ACL.. With Matera and Ballantyne as our small forwards Rankine would emmediately make us better

Let’s not be about the sheep mentality. This fascination about getting a key forward all these years just blows up in your face when you watch the current premiers put on a display with one key forward who’s been in the system for almost a decade. Drafting a King or whoever is a key forward only to watch their slow progress is not what we want. We’ve got 3 in our stable to develop. How many more do you need. Let’s get more Fyfe, Dusty Martin, Dangerfield type players and the world would be a better place.

It's an incredibly high quality KPF that allows Richmond to play fewer genuine talls forward (although they have blokes like Caddy and Dusty who play much taller). We don't have that so in your scenario where you want to copy Richmond, we'd still need to draft a tall forward.

Reiwoldt has been incredibly good since he was a kid and kicked 78 goals in a season and won a coleman by the time he was 21. For comparison with our main key forward Tabs, he has kicked 62 goals in his career and is 25. There's a huge gulf in talent and ability there which we need to rectify.

Pinning our hopes on tall blokes taken late in drafts with clear flaws is not going to turn us into Richmond as you wish Jezza.

That Lukosius/Rankine pairing would be my ideal scenario too. Not only are they probably the two most talented players in the draft, they are both South Aussies who are less likely to want to head home which works for us.

Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.

I agree Bizkit.
Lukosius & Rankine do look the most exciting players.

All good selections and backed up by good opinions. For me, I would be happy adding Ian Hill and Jason Carter to our list - but losing Neale would change that.

Ian Hill would be nice Polly but I think the only way we land him is if we loose Lachie. We won’t take him in the top 5 so our 2nd pick will need to be before the slimes first. If we loose Neale I would hope for something like 5. King 6. Rankine 20s Hill

Yeah I reckon Brisbane’s second pick would be enough to get Ian Hill.. I reckon with him being so quiet lately and standing at only 175cm he will slide into the second round
