Are you sure it was Freo. Carlton delisted 4 players today.

Besides, we don't have the right draft picks to replace 4 players on top of the 3 that retired, even with promoting rookies.

As I have it, there are 7 Freo players out of contract. If the media reports are correct and those 3 have yet to be offered contracts, it means by extension that the other 4 (Hughes, Giro, Strnadica & Nyhuis) have either been retained as rookies or offered a new contract.

Out of those 3, I’d hate to see Grey not retained. But he’s been injury prone and butchers his disposal at times, so not a complete surprise the club’s taking a wait-and-see approach.

I'd hate to see Brady Grey go as well. I thought he showed a lot of desperation, but then its not surprising as we have offloaded better players than him in the past for nothing in return.

I have a feeling that’s what’s going to happen Hypen. No real trade value. Unless Freo can package them up in a free steak knives type deal for somebody or some draft pick then Sheridan and Grey will in all likelihood stay on the list somewhere. I suspect Sutcliffe will go though.

Tend to agree Grub. I’d keep Grey & Sheridan for some experience and depth.

Sheridan actually started to show something when played forward this year, IMHO, and kicked the best goal I’ve seen at the new Stadium against Adelaide - deep in the pocket I sit.

Sutcliffe I just can’t see getting any better. He played in the ‘13 GF but he’s never cemented his spot since then - despite several opportunities. His spot would be better spent on a mature age WAFL player like Schloithe et al.

I think they have these players in limbo until they get their new list manager bloke so he has some cards up his sleeve and can approach Carlton's list bloke to see if there's any deals they can broker.

I understand the sentiment but Lloyd is Carltank’s new Head of Football and Silvagni their list boss - either way, Silvagni sure had more to work with picking apart the GWS list than Lloyd would with Freo’s.
