And our second pick after Pick 6 is now down to Pick 80 which has zero Draft points value if used to convert to Academy pickups at the Draft. At the moment we seem like being totally irrelevant on draft day unless we start trading in some picks but not sure what we have as value, short of future picks, Sutcliffe or Sheridan.

Give Bennell's money to Neale to make him stay.
Trade for Lobbe but keep a high 1st round pick (as per Detox).
Get Hogan next year.
You can't get everyone all the time.

I think Hogan’s injuries are reason enough to not give up our draft picks ala Bennell.

Trade Radio - we've got Neil from Perth on the line, go ahead Neil.

Oh, am I on?

Yes, go ahead Neil.

G'DAY boys, how're you going?

GOOD, GOOD - go ahead Neil.

Good good, ok - listen, I think Freo should on-trade pick 77 and a player to St Kilda for their future third round pick next year and pick 81, which they can then swap for picks 53 and 72 with the Bulldogs, which they can use to add to Geelong's pick 37 (that they got for Dalhaus), but use 53 to send to Sydney in a group exchange for picks 67, 84 and 122, which Freo can then put together to send to Gold Coast in exchange for picks 71 and 64 plus a fourth round pick in next years draft that can then be all grouped together to keep Lachie in the purple until the end of his contract next year. Whaddya boys think of that?

Ummm, that's um fascinating Neil - thanks for your call. Let's go for an extended break here - Trade Radio proudly sponsored by McDonalds where their new breakfast burger the Big Mac is now available 24 hours a day; Integrated decking oil - because not all decking oils are the same; Carlton United Breweries where their new zero alcohol beer is suitable to drink with some HR lady on her birthday; and AEG power tools, the mark of a true tradie with 6 amp batteries that are proudly marked on the side...

As has been suggested many times the Neale trade is going to affect the whole trade market over the next week. It's the key to the whole trade scenario at this stage.
My take is that the Neale trade gives us pick 5 and 32 at least from Brisbane. This then means we have 5 and 6. PA have 10, 11 and 23 (I think). We trade 6 for 10 and 23. This then gives us a go at getting Lobb (23) and possibly also Langdon (32). We have 5 and 10 for Hogan or we go to the draft with 5 and 10?

If Lachie trade doesn't go ahead he remains a contracted player. Now I'm sure Lachie was quoted somewhere that he would just see out his contract, play next season for Freo and then go to Brisbane in next years trade period.
Now Jon Ralph is sting that there is no way Lachie will be playing for Freo next season in today's media. So what is Lachie's stance? I've always been a fan of Lachie's but if he intends going down the track of standing out of footy for a season he'd be losing me as I think it would be a bit childish and totally against his self processed love of the club.

I agree Gumnut. Lachie and Jesse have to come good publicly with their intentions/desires right now. We are unnecessarily in limbo.
Trade radio insists that Lachie is going and the general view is that Brisbane need to offer more than just pick 5. See my thoughts above. Have Freo cooled on Hogan vis a vis his injury?

I must admit, Jesse's foot problem has worried me a bit as we can't afford having another big name on big dollars sitting on the sidelines. Maybe the plan is to tie his bad leg up with Tabs and they'll have two good feet between the pair of them!

There is no way we part with our all our early draft pick/s to get Hogan.

Even bringing in Lobb and Hogan together after losing LN we still need to retain a high draft pick.

Melbourne might want two high picks for Hogan and before his foot injury, he MAY have been worth it. But bad feet have ruined many a promising player’s career and we’ve already got one busted legged, high salary player on our books.

So, if we can’t get Lobb and Hogan for basically the compensation from Brisvegas for LN - then no deal.

Hogan’s out of contract next year and will probably be worth less then than he is now - which is not the case with LN. As a RFA, we could match any offer Brissie put up and force a trade of similar scope to what he’s worth now. Should he win a third Doig, it would make LN worth even more.

Hold your ground, Steve!!

Confirmed. LN request trade to Brisbane, the HS reports.

Seems to be the case: LN wants out and goes to Brissie. This puts Freo in a strong position, right? Belly's been saying all along, we want to keep LN. So, is the narrative, you want LN, pay up, or we'll hold him to his contract. That, plus the whole 'well, we may be cooling on Hogan' narrative has to work in our favour, right? Or, am I missing the point here?
