If it was true and according to the article lachie was interested in exploring ( don’t know how accurate) it would be really disappointing. Going home to sa is one thing going to Brisbane is another.

Maybe this is what the club needs to really understand where they are at.
Because all the kumbiah nonsense coming from the coach and management shows they are either totally oblivious to how bad this club has become or putting their heads in the sand.

I will be extremely disappointed if this comes to fruition and I'm not sure if the club really appreciates what Lachie's true value is to the club. He, along with David Mundy, is the one who always stands up in games even when Fyfe is having a downer and leads the younger players. He is also extremely articulate, personable when speaking to the media and pushes the team ethos when others in leadership roles stumble over their words and make little sense at all. Given the choice I would keep him ahead of Fyfe any day of the week and he is obviously being earmarked as Captain at the Lions for their next premiership tilt.
It would be a dark day if he were to leave and would set back our own development substantially.

Neale and Mundy have been the life raft keeping this club’s head just above water since 2015, with sporadic cameos from Walters and Fyfe.

Neale has been the best on field leader this year with work rate and defending the young kids, at times as a lone hand.

He’d be a great fit for Brisbane and they’d be perfect for him, aside from the general population of the state where they exist.

Lyon’s stuffed if he goes. Mundy’s done next year, Fyfe won’t last the distance and we hang hopes on another draft pick mystery bag.

Lets hope this is just another beat up to sell ads.

Neale has been one of the few that has stood up this year. He is one if the major on field leaders and his loss would be more than just his weekly possessions. The earlier comment about setting back the rebuild is absolutely spot on. The rebuild is staggering along as it is. We don't need any additional handicaps to overcome.

Very hard to correlate that story with what Lachie said via the club website not 2 days ago.

That is, really looking forward to a full pre-season with no surgery booked, mentoring his flat mate Andy Brayshaw, etc.

I think the term ‘Staff Writers’ is used when no-one wants to be held responsible when a rank, unsubstantiated ‘rumour’ gets published. It’s the Hackdorn of the modern era.

Of course BrisVegas and probably every other team would love to have him in their side - doesn’t mean they’ll get him though.

If Beams goes then Neale would be the perfect replacement and Brisbane would have plenty of cash to throw his way. There would be worse teams to play for as they are clearly progressing under Fagan.
I’d be gutted though as Neale is a gem and one of those guys you would build your team around. He would be a great captain and a real loss to Freo.

That's fine, we will take there first pick and Eric Hipwood for Lachie Neale.

We get the tall forward we need and two picks 4 & 5 in the draft.

If clubs ahead of us go after Jack Lukosius and the King twins we can pick two gun midfields to replace Lachie.

Players such as Sam Walsh, Baily Smith, Izak Rankine and Ian Hill spring to mind, and if only Lukosius and Max King went at 1 & 2 with Rankine a likely no 3 we could grab Ben King and Sam Walsh who averaged 29.5 disposals and 7 tackles in the tac cup.

Be Bold and if we got Hipwood and King to go up forward with Taberner, Mccarthy and Cox plus Walsh to go with Brayshaw, Cerra, Banfield, Switkowski, adding in Fyfe, Langdon, the Hill brothers, Blakely it would start to look like a complete side.
