Boards and Presidents range from those who consider clubs their personal plaything (think Eddie and Jeff), and those who mostly work under the radar. Our Board tends towards the latter, so much so they don’t appear to do or say anything.
There are definitely benefits to presenting as a united club, and sticking to a plan can be admirable. Both would appeal to an incoming coach should we need to recruit one in the next 12 months. Personally, I think everyone at the club is a little too cosy. Someone needs to demonstrate some urgency and accountability. Lyon's actions behind the scenes might be positive, and he's always been a low-flame guy, but if the coach isn’t going to be demonstrative in how much losing hurts, then someone has to, if for no other reason than so the fans don’t feel like suckers for caring more than everyone at the club.
I only read the text of what Alcock said, so maybe something was lost in the delivery.
