TOPIC: Mitch McGovern

There are far better options than MMcG. For the sake of entertaining the thread, only pick 60+ for what i'd classify as yet another injury prone B- player.

Why should Freo do the hard work to get him back to WA for him to request a move to Toast in a year or two.

Don't think Roughie would leave Vic nor would he be cheap, but, absolutely worth a discussion. Then perhaps after a year or two, becomes assistant to Clarkson as new Freo senior coach. Now that would be a good plan.

Surely with our first round pick we could secure a player with just as much potential or greater than Mich Mac so cannot see any point in sacrificing that trade. Happy to look at swapping our 2019 first round pick for him and a 3rd round pick though.

I can't wait for the TV mini-series about whatever the hell happened on Adelaide's preseason development camp.

I haven’t seen a huge amount from him yet and he is in rehab a lot.. he is worth a second round pick but I definitely don’t want to trade backwards in this draft.. we will get a gun with our first rounder

No reason Roughie couldn’t replicate Mitchell to Weak Coast.

Bringing him in for a year or two with a coaching gig at the end wouldn’t be the worse thing to happen to us. Especially if it’s like the Mitchell deal and we only have to give up pick #100 or so.

If we have such space with our salary cap it’s a great way to fast-track our young forwards’ development and he’d be reconnecting with Hale & Guerra. Roly & Clarko are close mates as well.

I’ve heard a lot sillier things than that float on here and shirley the Hawks still owe us for Croad??

Back when we picked up Hill (3) and Mora (4), they were our only top 10 picks from memory post the Pav and Hase days. Since 2016, we’re starting to stock piled top 10 picks that will surely bare fruit in the coming years. I’m keen on this year's pick being another weapon in our armoury.

Yeah, get Rough head for our pick 5 and their first round pick (14). Rough head can be a player coach up forward with a future in coaching.

Pick 5 must be non-negotiable we need a classy pacey midfielder to compliment our inside strength.

Absolutely, pick 5 (or 7 after FA & priority picks) is off the table with any trade.

I’m ok with the idea of trading future picks as, in practice, you never have to pay the piper. A Ponzi scheme as someone else described.

We get back into the second and third round this year by selling the same for next year (whomever got ours for this year did well), get highly skilled players with these picks then load up on the 21-25 year olds in the rookie & PSD drafts.

The romance of McGovern to Freo is great
however
Taylor and Jenkins are the main crows targets ...MMcGovern plays 3rd or 4th tall ....we need a first tall
He could probably play half back flank though

Trade Neale, that’s mad!

McGovern, injury prone, 13 goals out of 15 games and averaged about 11 disposals. It’s Mitch not Jeremy that’s avaialble.
