And what about this multi positional thing. Apparently the best teams have players who can go from forward to mid to back.
Well I really believe in playing to your strengths, but what would I know. I don't remember players from the best teams like Stevie J, Betts, Breust, Greene, Franklin and Kennedy for starters being expected to play in multi positions.

Just watched the whole thing and whilst I initially thought he was talking about meeting with Lobb’s management, in relation to 2 meetings have taken place. But right at the end when he said ‘they’ will link him into the discussions now the season’s over, he was referring to the list management meetings.

Worth a look at the whole presser. Had some good things to say about Duman, Fyfe’s commitment and our success at retaining players.

Perhaps in anticipation of Langdork’s piece today about how we should have retired off Sandi & Ballas in addition to Spurr, DPearce & AAJohnno, as it presently stands we will enter 2019 with only 3 30+ year olds on our list - the least in the comp.

As had been said plenty of times before, you need experienced players on your list to pass on their knowledge to the next generation.

I hope that Ballas also knew it was coming out and turned back the clock to put in his best performance in 3-4 years just to make Langdork look even sillier than that gold jacket abomination he adorns.

Interesting, Roly’s belief that we need multi dimensional players. Swans, Tigers and Pies seem to have gone this way yet I’ve heard Adam Simpson say that Eales changed this year from having mids playing forward to having proper forwards such as Rioli and Ryan. I would think Hawks are the same.

Agree Crumber. Stephenson is highly likely to win the rising star playing as a half forward only, Rioli and Reiwoldt don't move out of the Richmond forward line and the Eagles and Hawthorn have very stable forward lines.

In fact contrary to Jezza's belief that you should play 22 midfielders, the slime have what appears to be a very average midfield but a strong, stable forward line who are hard to match up on and all capable of kicking goals at any given time in any game.

I would dream of having the goals scoring power that they have, as they often go inside 50 less than their opponents but still outscore them. Oh, and they have some very accurate goalkickers too.

I think you'll find that jezza's conversion to 22 mids is based on Roly talking multi-dimensional players.

Between that and speed he doesn't have to answer questions about where the improvement will come from for our sustained success and then at the end of next season he can point to the lack of speed taken in this years draft or height or dimensions or something.

I'd like one the reporters to ask him about accountability and will he ever be accountable but you know he'll point to something that somebody else has done or not done and talk about cobblers cobblering.

I wonder if he does that in board meetings?
