Yes Larkin, Hamling was great yesterday. We do need some class in our forward line though.

If we believe in the widely held view it takes big blokes until their mid-20’s to hit their straps - I think it makes sense to recruit someone like Lobb.

Tabs is a contested marking beast but his kicking - both field and on goals - is a long way off elite. Lobb would take some heat off Cox and Darcy in both the ruck and forward roles and allow them to develop without getting the best defenders to contend with.

Sandi can’t be expected to play more than 8-10 games so there would be room for all of Lobb, Darcy, Cox and Tabs.

That’s a good KPF/Ruck foundation IMHO, particularly with Meek, Strnadica & Jones for depth.

I hope we get the best KPP available with our first pick but it’s quite possible the main ones being talked up, the King twins and Lukosius, will all be gone by the time we get a pick.

GC get a (likely) first round (next selection) compo pick for Lynch. They could then grab both twins if that were to happen - esp as they stand to lose both Lynch and May.

Carltank will likely take Walsh with their first pick - which leaves the Deaf Cheats or BrisVegas to pinch Lukosius.

If that were to play out - there’s not another stand-out tall in the top 15 from what little info I have.

So I reckon we should get Dillon O’Reilly with our first pick. Family connection to the club and we don’t want a repeat of the McGovern’s.

I know Ian Hill is arguably the best West Aussie in this draft group - who I’d otherwise pick up if we had a second round pick to get O’Reilly. Something we don’t currently have.

I’d then like to see us load up through the PSD and rookie list with mature-age WAFL players like Schloithe. I don’t see enough WAFL footy to add to that list but I’m hoping a few on here who do could throw out some names.

Morgan, we break even, or near enough in the clearances most weeks, including last week when we got smashed by a gazillion goals, so using that for an excuse why we start with a 2 man forward line doesn't add up. We start from 150 meters back because after we win the clearance we give the footy away because we have no options forward. Simple as that, and just as simple to fix.

I seriously fail to see what Lobb would bring to our side that we don't already have. How many big men, ruckmen/forwards do you need?

Sandilands, Darcy, Tabener, Apeness, Jones, Meek, Strnadica, Dixon..... and Lobb.

It's not like he's going to come cheaply and this is what you get.

2018 averages 9.5 disposals 19.8 hit outs 3.1 marks 0.6 goals He's neither really a good ruckman or a good forward.

Darcy(yesterday) 8 dis 35 h.o. 4 m 0 g
Lobb(today) 10 dis 12 h.o. 4m 1g

It's worth noting that they were both up against probably the two best ruckmen in the competition in Grundy and Gawn but there's a lot more upside in Darcy than paying big bucks for an average big man who is doing little in a much better side than us.

I cant understand why we insist on playing 3 average talls when it has been proven that a 1 tall fwd line can work! Next Year I would like to see Sandi, Darcy and Tabs being our 3 starting talls, with Darcy and Sandi resting fwd and Fyfe playing atleast 40% fwd. We do have a largish amount of smalls and we could train up Cerra to play there also.

Grey Tabs Ballas
Walters Fyfe Bennel (lol)
Langdon Mundy B.Hill
Wilson Pearce S.Hill
Ryan Hamling Logue

Sandi, Blakely, Neale
Darcy, Brayshaw, Duman, Cerra

On paper that is a top 8 contending side. Matera, Cox, Kerstan, Mccarthy can then set about trying to dominate at wafl level and if they do they could come in. Switkowski looks promising for small fwd depth and Nyhuis is a decent back pocket, Tucker and Sheridan back up mids
What baffles me though is how all struggling teams conduct reviews and change approach, ass coaches etc but we are immune! Apparently our amazing band of ass coaches are all locked away! I wish we could say goodbye to a few and get Jarred Schofield and a couple others to strengthen us in that area...but alas...its the Roly show

Tab looks very strong in marking contests. I like that he rarely gets beat in a marking contest, bringing the ball to ground, a gift for crumbing players. I also like his ability to hit players with a handball. He is ok below his knees and is starting to develop some mongrel. At this point in time he is very important to us and I hope he and the team take another step forward next year.

It doesn't matter who you name up forward, with the style we currently play. Someone mentioned recruiting Bruest to give us some goalkicking power. Waste of time, we already have plenty of forwards, and Bruest will fit in alongside them backwards of the centre most games. You are looking for the wrong type of replacement.
