Morgan I have a different view. He's had way too many off field distractions to be considered a great and never really had to play on a man so I question his worth in the context of being a great player. Also his best football was played when we were playing our best football. Is that cause he was playing his best football and hence we'd play ours? Is it then the chicken and the egg ??? Do we have a broad enough sample size? its complicated. I'm not saying he's not a great player I'm saying its complicated and requires more objective analysis. Possibly even an ICAM.

Annoying isn't it?

Yeah congratulations Michael Jonno you are my all time favourite and I will be there to say goodbye and thank you on the weekend.

Johnno would occasionally kick an absolute mongrel. I think it was because of his ball drop. But because his kicks were so attacking, when he missed, the consequences were pretty bad. A few people used to get on him about it.

I think people remember bad kicks more than they appreciate some of the more subtle arts of the game. Johnno was a master of those.

Yeah I don't see Johnno as Clive material. He was a lot more dependable and a lot less WTF.

He made the odd blue and some indeed were shockers but I'd still score him in the high 90s for effectiveness. When you needed somebody reliable to clear the ball from defence, Johnno was that defender.

He doesn't even rate on the Sutcliffe scale for blues inside the back 50.

He's tailed away a little in the twilight of his career but I can still remember the times he was clearing the ball out and hitting targets on the wing. Him, Elvis and Grover - 3 super defenders

I rate Clive a long way ahead of Sutcliffe, Yeti, so don't think I underrate Johnno, but his "point duty traffic policeman" pointing before he kicked the footy from defense could lead to some very "Clive" moments, and they happened from day 1 to day finish -1.*

I may review that after tomorrows game.

Having heard Johnno and Danyle on the FFC website (listen to it if you haven’t) the club should have an interview with each player so we get some understanding and connection with them. Otherwise we’re pxssing in the wind.
