Danyle Pearce announcing his retirement coinciding with refusing a farewell game was perhaps a better way to say goodbye. I can’t remember if the Wiz got a farewell game and if it was a club decision. I think given the pressure the clubs been under, and clearly Roly takes responsibility for, sometimes we need to consider the players role in this.

Yes Jezza, that's how it normally works, but not a Freo. You've constantly been harping on about how our young players are cooked so a sensible coach could have rotated Pearce, Sheridan, Giro, Crowden, Cerra through that team or brought Pearce in during Brayshaw's two outings due injury, or Sutcliffe's or Hill's.
But Roly didn't do that so all is good because Roly is Mr Perfect and you could never think your hero may do something wrong.

Morgan, Jezza, & the rest of the "you are hypocrites" brigade, go back through my posts and find one, repeat one, where I have paid out on Danyle Pearce. I have always rated him, and the reason for that is because his teammates have always rated him, so he must have been doing his job. So I am not using this issue to pay out on Lyon, I don't need any help to do that. But all those saying that Pearce doesn't want, or doesn't need a send off game are those who would defend Lyon, Bond and co with their last breath.

Lyon announced Pearces retirement in the media rather than letting Pearce do it with dignity, so I am not surprised Lyon has come out with a barrell of excuses for not giving him a game this week. Hill has been doubtful all week, so Pearce could have come in for him, as Lyon was happy to do earlier in the year.

I didn't call you out by name, RR, so you should not have "outed" yourself. I have to admit I often sometimes agree with you, Morgan and many of the pro Lyon brigade, so it is not a personal attack at any time. I would also like to keep a little bit of civility and humour in the air when we all do disagree. I would hate to see us get like the efh, and other (including Freo supporters) forums and facebook pages with the really foul language and mindless attacks on all and sundry just because of a loss on the weekend..

And it is also great that we do appreciate the efforts of all (except maybe Sylvia and Anthony) those who played for Freo when they retire.
