TOPIC: Sandi signs on for 2019

I agree with Hypen. Would play him till he’s forty. He hasn’t gotten slower and he hasn’t shrunk and his injuries are relatively minor and unrelated to each other. The heart and soul of the club really.
Mundy and Sandi are good signings. Ballas and Bennell less so.

I don't think minor injuries keep you out for two thirds of each of the last three seasons. I do agree that he's not getting any slower, but i don't think pace has ever been his forte. Not too sure if there are many slower than him to start with.

A Grand Final 100 (50?) meter sprint between Sandi and Mick Nolan, both at their peak of fitness, would be something to behold.

You have to delay the second half if you wanted them to reach the finish

You'd have to define "sprint".

In the broadest sense of the word, Expat.
I hadn't thought it through that far, Yeti, we would need to ask CH7's permission to push the half time break out to 30 minutes I reckon, what would you think would be a safe estimate?

My concern with this is that it sounds like Pav Pt 2. Yes, I realise how important Sandi is to our team but it shouldn't have got to the stage where we are so reliant on a 37 year old ruckman who is forced to play more games than he should at his age because we haven't prepared properly for his departure.

It was only earlier this year that we were saying here that he needed a break before he was hit by injury again. Even Roly said the same but because Darcy was injured he said we had no choice but to keep playing him. Then of course no surprise he was injured again. Supposedly only out for a week or two with a mild tweak that in typical Freo medical time has stretched out to 6-7?

Meek's not ready, Jones according to Roly is not strong or fit enough. He's 23-24 ffs and been playing WAFL for a number of years. To me he's just a WAFL player that we've grabbed in the vain hope that he may cover for Sandi one day. Seeing as he's done nothing of interest at WAFL level I think it's a pipe dream.

We then decide to make Apeness into a ruckman until he breaks down again. Surely it would have been better to slot him back into the forward line and progress slowly after being out for as long as he had but no we go over the top in his game expectation and he's injured for the umpteenth time.

Our best mid aged ruckman in Zac Clarke was delisted after consistent knee trouble. He is then drafted by a WAFL club who in just the off season manage to fix his knees so much so that he hasn't missed a game? is playing very well and being talked about as a draft prospect again.

Just another few examples of why Bond, Lloyd and Weber should be held accountable but aren't and why we as supporters are so frustrated with the whole set up.
