People that think they know everything will never learn anything !

Some people don't understand that they don't understand and that can be very scary !

Do you honestly think that our nemesis up the road would put up with the performance on the weekend.
People have scoured AFL/VFL football records and in the history of the game no record can be found of 23 consecutive goals.

Think about it.

Our performance was not just bad , but beyond historically bad.
This is not youth , average games played etc there WAS ENOUGH talent out there to score a GOAL to break the 23 consecutive goals.

What it showed was the HUGE gap in spin and what is actually happening to our beloved club. this was not an isolated example, but the worst of all the other beltings, not just this year but over the previous 3 years.

The players have spoken with their ACTIONS , not their words.

Believe their actions they don't now what to do under this coaching panel.
Is it Ross , maybe , maybe not , but it stinks.

So to summarise RM, embark on a path that has failed us every time we’ve tried it in the past - if success relates to playing finals consistently.

Might as well go with Schofield so he can introduce a game plan based on water polo or similar that will do squat for us but be seen in years to come as being ‘ahead of its time’? (Sarcastica font engaged).

For every Clarkson there are four Voss/Bolton/Ratten/Drum. We have ended up with the latter - every time! Or do you think a clean out of the CEO, Football Manager and, by extension, all Board members in favour of resigning Lyon, will provide the solid and sound foundation upon which to choose the next coach??

But please, elaborate on those other ‘established’ coaches who you believe we could poach? To save you some time, just limit the list to those with a track record of sustained finals success (i.e. 3+ consecutive appearances) at their current club.

Bugger it, I’ll do it for you:

Clarkson (not going to happen)
Hardwick (ditto)
Simpson (not in your life - Slime thru and thru!)
C.Scott (just re-signed for 4 years)
Longmire (possible, but unlikely)
Cameron (possible but unlikely)

Did I miss anyone??

It is not my job to identify them, if it was, I would not be doing what I am doing now. However, if we do end up with a Voss/Ratten, we would not be any worse off than we are at the moment, and you are very selective in naming rookie coaches, just like I was.

As for the established coaches, no-one would have believed we could get Lyon in 2011, but it happened. Money talks, and its about time the Bull___t walked, from the top down, admin and all. Put people in place who can identify the next Clarkson. He will come from the names already mentioned, Longmuir, Hodge, Sumich et al.

Ratten could be a good coach .

Wrong, we got Lyon becuase St Kilda wouldnt commit and we pounced. How has it worked out for them since then??

Apologies for expecting an answer - I tend to look at a problem and seek a solution - not just identify endless reasons for the problem.

And I also think you are wrong in thinking ABR will be better - there are several teams around or below us on the ladder who are current examples of how sacking a coach midway through a rebuild can lead to worse outcomes.

I actually don't mind Ling's summation of games and commentary so what in particular is he doing wrong Jason? I can't remember you ever criticising him before only now when he has said some imo well judged comments about where we are at, so I'm assuming it must be for that reason he has been sent to the naughty corner.

Duffield for me is one of the best W.A. based writers and he was also critical of the way Freo are tracking. In fact there are an awful lot of people critical of the way we are tracking so they must all be wrong too.

Who should we believe in the media? Only those who think all is good down at the port? Trouble is I can't really find too many except for Rosich and that 's enough to make my skin crawl.

Your solution is Chocko (as I said 18 months ago).

But first I want Nathan Wilson to be put in charge of the organisational review. He doesn't need any people to help him, just one of those alluminum baseball bats and a pair of steel toed safety boots.

I’ve hated Ling since his playing days - nothing’s changed since he went into the medja.

That’s why I’ll always have a soft spot for Dean Solomon - he knew how to shut up that rabbitty mouth of his.

Montrachet,

you missed the single most important stat in your list

Beveridge

Premierships coached 1

Roly

Premierships coached 0

Having a flag under your belt buys you a lot more leeway than a smarmy press conference

Choko would at least understand our current predicament having coached a team that lost to Geelong by a 119 points in Victoria.

Just a pity that was in the 2007 GF...
