Really don't think it is one game out of isolation when we have had nine 50+ point demolitions this year, six the year before that and four the year before that. Plus Collingwood this week could go either way. Another flogging or we show some heart.
I think this week was the straw that broke the camel's back for many people-supporters, members, media, etc

Ok, found the link and watched it - I agree, Fyfe handled it well. But I'm not too sure doing nothing is something anyone would hang their hat on.

I'd like to say something... This is the first game I watched live in 7 weeks due to being offshore and I think I'm still in shock. But when I snap out of it... I won't be booing Chris Maine this Saturday...

I think Fyfe did a great job under fire at that press conference and I won't be reading anything into anything that was said or implied. I'll just look forward to Saturday's final game.

Lyon has brainwashed the club from head to toe. That’s the biggest problem. Simple as that.

I wonder if Fyfe has read Pavs book and found it a insight of Pav realising the club/team needs a kick up the arse in his first years and called for a "Fight Club" night which the team went on to win seven in a row. Pav lost his first fight to Rick Hart.
Fyfe will bring out a book before he retires entitled "Purple Steel" with the real action.....off the field.

Could be as he already likes a bit of Blue Steel action.

Look, I don't know how good a captain Fyfe is, but there aren't many reasons teams have 87 consecutive goals scored against them. Talent and game plans alone don't account for that outcome.

One explanation is the team is physically and emotionally shot. It looks to my untrained eye that we have the heaviest legs in the league. Some of that may be explainable - we have so many young guys, and blokes coming back from injury, and our experienced players have been covering a heavy load. But maybe our training staff went too hard. We seemed to come back from the bye even more tired, for example.

Another explanation is that the coach has lost the players. It's not obvious from the comments coming out of the club, but maybe the team just doesn't want to play for Lyon anymore.

A third explanation is that there is a schism in the playing group, and they don't want to play for each other. Some of this might be on the coach, but it would be equally damning on the leadership group.

As discussed after his Bob interview, Fyfe is a bright, articulate young man, who is an extraordinary footballer and an inspirational and brave player. He has all the attributes to make a good leader.....and yet from the outside I sense I would find it hard to connect with him on a human level. Doubtless that says more about me than him, but in a group of 40-odd I suspect there would be others who felt the same way. I think it was telling the players voted Mundy ahead of him as captain a couple of years back - they seem very different individuals. Perhaps we just had a group that gravitated more towards Mundy's self-effacing demeanour.

The F7 thing was just incredibly poorly-timed. Even though it was pre-planned, why would you release after an away game to Geelong. The odds weren't going to be in your favour. If you copped the biggest pasting in the club's history, you might be inclined to shut it down. And why wouldn't you release in the bye-round?

And, I know it's a minor thing, but Fyfe standing there in a Freo jumper with the purple replaced with black just irks me. You know someone like Rosich is sitting there thinking 'oh, the Freo jumper looks pretty good in black'.

What was the F7 thing? The hat company were trying to sell some leftover hats and he put it on Facebook. Is that considered a thing?

We have a weak football department. Blaming Nat Fyfe's hat licensee seems like the long way around to fixing that.

Nat Fyfe has an official page that proclaims "All content via Nat Fyfe". An hour after leading his team off the ground from the most embarrassing loss in the club's history Fyfe tells the world: "My limited edition F7 snapbacks are available to celebrate Hat Locker’s 5th birthday. Grab them while you can!"

It's bad timing, and I'm guessing the crew administering his account stuffed up.

There's no way a team (at least three-quarters) full of AFL talent should be embarrassed like they did on Saturday. Maybe the old 'media street' criticism is an anachronism, but if you're going to lay the boot into the club for their failure of communications, I don't think it's unfair to criticise the captain (or his advisors) for not understanding the gravity of the moment.

It's the last 30 hats from the run of 307 hats they've been selling for 2 years.

Ive watched Nat Fyfe closely as most of us on here have and unless you have revulsion to trendy clothing, Charlie Chaplin walking sticks, Man buns and the propensity to butcher the odd kick, I see absolutely no evidence at all that Nat Fyfe isnt one of the most upstanding young men in the AFL, fair and courageous on the field, laser focus and dedication to improvement, a top 5 AFL player and a leader to equal Pav.
It was no coincidence that during the Simonds Stadium Slaughter one man stood out with the highest disposals. Our Captain.
If only I was that eloquent and measured at that age, still cant match him. Theres some problems that need fixing at Freo but Fyfe isnt one of them.
