One more game to go for the 2018 season and it's a huge question mark of what 2019 holds.
I have always been optimistic in previous dreadful years because the truth was that we were dreadful because of the players were average but had heart. No excuses.
I feel for the youngsters blooded this year that played yesterday. It was 80 AD executions at the Colosseum Rome.
If journalists ask a question they should be ready to back it up. The how many years for a rebuild question asked yesterday and Lyon threw it back with how many years has it been for other clubs?
The answer back the Lyon should have been Sydney zero, Geelong zero, Hawks a couple after winning four GFs and I will include the West Coast.
It's only bad managed and coached clubs have a problem year after year and stay average.
Why did Walters, Fyfe play yesterday..???

Injuries this year could not be covered and what's going to change next year?
Players like Ballantyne, Fyfe, S Hill, B Hill, Bennell, A Pearce, Grey, Sandilands, Apeness and Walters will be out for periods next year.
I would also add Logue, Darcy, Taberner, Grey to that list.
Plus add up to six players on the current 2018 list like Johnston, Pearce, Spurr etc that are gone leaving our list with Mundy Neale and half a dozen youngers that made a reliable display of effort which will roll on to next year.
We need to pick up a couple of mature players that are discarded by other clubs like Luke Hodge.

thecheg..The club has shown the door to over thirty players in two years and we were left with injury prone elder players.
Love the youngers but the management and planning of this rebuild has been a joke.
I am never embarrassed about scoreboard results just disappointment on playing several top tier players which are injured with nothing to gain, except trying to make the end margin not so bad for Lyon.
Go and look at Hawthorn list in the past ten years and they still discard GREAT players each year and get mature and youngers from other clubs and continue on.
Management is the key.
Bennell getting another year shows that the clubs management plan is all around getting our senior injured players and him on the park for a period next year with no second plan as this year.
