IMHO RL looks very comfortable in his position. He has Rosich, Bond (That’s Chris Bond) and the entire Freo board in his corner. He does what he likes and says what he likes his position is safe and he knows it. If the board fires him he has big bucks coming his way.

He’s now saying it could be 5 or 6 years or a decade. No one is challenging him. There wasn’t much to look forward to from his presser.

Our list will be boosted by a first round pick and pick 78 onwards it’s hardly going to make much difference to our chances next year. 2020 is a long way away and I’m afraid a Freo premiership seems much further away. It’s a very bleak day for those who support freo.

Just listened to it. Heard him say, "the AFL knows how long it takes, it doesn't take 3 years it takes 5 to 6 years". This is in reference to rebuilding.

So it's gone from sustained success to re-stump, to rebuild taking 4 years, to 4 years after 2016 and now 5 to 6 years.

It's a club of con men. They have no plan.

Not all teams go through a freo style rebuild. List managers plan ahead to avoid a massive turnover of personnel.
The loss of Brad Lloyd could have some repercussions. Maybe he jumped ship after all there wasn’t much drafting for him to do at freo with a first rounder and then daylight until pick 78.

Yeah I heard that Hypen. I also didn’t like how he spoke about head office, felt a little bit wrong.
Independent inquiry by a league appointed body. I can sense this going all Gold Coast on us. If they are allowed to look into this themselves everybody will continue to get there big fat salaries until the league steps in.

Will there be a couple of farewells to players at next week’s game?
We will work our way through it. There’s been a number of re-signings, there’s been a really strong retention rate at this club over a number of years now and I think that’s continued. We’ve got some good leaders to help bring them through. So at the right time we will get to that. It’s obviously getting to a narrow window now isn’t it.

Continuing my theory that Ross doesn't know what day it is.

The way I took that comment from Fyfe was acknowledging that these are the excuses that RL has used after every loss in recent memory, save the one about having nothing left to play for. And while Fyfe was saying these words into a microphone, RL was in a presser, using these very excuses again. As I suspect Fyfe knew he would.
