After having a long hard look at this weekends game
Here are some reason why we lost by so much
1. Games played difference AVE 121 vs 87 plus Abbott (2 games) and Kelly (21 games) are both mature age selections
2. Geelong have everything to play for vs Dockers actually are worse off (draft pick) if they win
3. Geelong home ground is unique in size and weather conditions (it hailed during the game)
4. We usually kick like 5 junk time 4th quarter goals so the loses aren't this bad
5. End of the season and the boys are tired
6. We were missing 6 of our best 22 (Sandi, Hamling, Ryan, Blakely, Hill, Brayshaw) and you could say that Logue, Tucker, Bennell, Apeness are pushing into our best 22 vs Geelong who were nearly full strength.
7. Ross tactics were average-> cant really remember but not sure why they didnt Pagen Paddocks Fyfe (aka operation fyfealtion)
8. We are bad away from home and have been over the past 3 seasons
9. Our skills are very poor atm, a majority of the players went at under 70% efficiency

Also dont be alarmed if this rebuild takes another 2-3 more years, but also dont be surprised if next year we are pushing for finals (barring injures)
In 2016 we did not rebuild and there was still questionable decisions at the start of 2017 and 2018 in regards to a rebuild
In a sense RTB didn't really full commit to the rebuild until R2 2018.

The problem with apologists are that they try to endlessly advocate doing nothing. Seems stupid to me that anyone would want to just keep enduring the kind of stuff we have all endured for at least the past two full seasons. Will it get worse? Of course it will, there's no evidence that it will improve at all.

VII The very reason why many are calling for change.

I-IX (except VII) Sound very much like Lyon's press conference transcripts.

I think this rebuild has had more starting dates than we kick goals on weekends.

I think we can just expect more of the same. We will keep restarting the rebuild every year so Roly will never be held accountable....by some

The house of cards came crashing down on Saturday and almost everyone in the universe accepts that the cards are flat on the table top.

Then up pops the administrative head of the organisation saying we just need to tinker with a couple of cards on the fourth tier. You've got to love that kind of madness.

Yeah okay, sure we lost by 133 points to the cats at their home ground. But I understand that we don't even have the greatest losing margin to the cats... Yep, those Weagles have that record too.

Rnd 13 2008 at Subiaco WCE lose to Cats by 135 points... and I understand they had a full strength side too.

Rosich:

“It has been a focus in the way that our coaching team has tried to develop a game plan and also with respect to our program. This year had extra elements that focused on touch, handball and kicking skills. It will be interesting to look at the assessment of that at season’s end to see what impact that has had.”

Why wait a week? It's failed. Poor skills, awful one-dimensional game plan, and whatever the "program" is, I think it's time to change the channel.

Another classic piece of bs spin......

“One area we have already started looking at is our injury rates,” Rosich said.

“Anecdotally, although we accept a level of injury because we play a contact sport and that you are more susceptible with a young list, our injury rate was quite high and the unavailability of some quality players with our young list has hurt us. I have got no doubt we can improve on that area in 2019.”

So please explain how that's going to happen. Particularly as it's been the same for a long time and nothing has changed.

No wonder Rosich rarely speaks in public these days. That was almost as embarrassing as the team effort on the weekend.

He's fronted up purely for being seen as fronting up. Weak.

They give the members nothing. They are just a circle the wagons organisation.

Nothing will change. I think it's right that it'll cost too much to drop Lyon, so they'll see him through 2020. The apologists and embracers of sustained mediocrity will claim he'll get things on track, when all the evidence points the opposite way.

Actually CA, dig a little deeper into his comments.

First of all he went on about injuries to a young list....and then listed injuries to Fyfe, Sandi, Hill S, Taberner, Blakely and Hill B. Thats hardly a list of young unmatured players.

Its got so I'm thinking he doesn't even know which yarn he is spinning

Financial implications of removing Ross, any assistants, and anyone else counted in the 'soft' cap for football admin is crippling
