Morgan, never said Sumich was a super coach? His abilities have nothing to do with how he was frozen out of the Coaching Group at Fremantle. If you remember Lyon was singing his praises one minute then not prepared to endorse him the next.

His new found philosophy of not having hands on didn't work and it was clearly evident at the time (pre season 2016). Sumich I understand pointed this out to him, said that he needed to be more hands on as there was no cohesion among the coaching group, which is something you would expect a senior coach would ensure. I think it is clearly self evident to all that Lyon does not respond well when he is questioned. Look at his public performances, which really say much about the nature of the man. Consequently Sumich was isolated from the coaching group and basically banished from the coaches box for the subsequent season, mostly sitting with a clipboard doing sfa on the boundary for the games that followed.
Don't expect Lyon to change his ways. You would expect the Board will eventually do it for him. Given that the club is big business I imagine there is a tipping point. ie How many lost memberships = the cost of retaining Lyon because, as it stands, I imagine an exodus of members next year. That is the only empowerment that we members have and probably the only thing this profit driven business will understand.
