Duffield's article suggests that there is dissatisfaction among staff at Fremantle when he uses the term "another departure." You need to read down the article to see that he refers to Sumich. Duffield claims that he narrowly missed the Western Bulldogs' coaching position and has been offered another senior assistant coaching role. Why hasn't he taken it?

On another off field personnel issue, what ever happened to the Eastern Sates opposition analyst position? Hird was supposedly an absolute priority. We then were going to use due diligence in finding the best person possible, and then nothing.
If it was an absolute priority how come we've never filled the position?

I think there's more to it and Duffield knows this, hence his reference to both parties being diplomatic. I think he is carrying the can for the awful list management of recent years. I'll say it again 2011 to 2015 was disgraceful. That team of picks should be at 100 games by now. We got Tabs, Neale, Blakely and not too much else I reckon.

I also think its known some of these more recent picks aren't much chop either. I don't think he resigned. I think he got asked to leave.

Reading between the lines further they'll swing back to focusing on local talent now. Probably compensate in an absurd manner, but that's what we do.

The guys been at the club for 10 years and has been offered a promotion at another club. Not sure there is much to see here. If he was going to Carlton as the list manager then we have a problem.
Sam Mitchell only lasted a year and is leaving. Maybe Simmo was too hard in him.

Seems a bit of a coincidence that we can't keep players on the track, and we have a 1 track game plan and all we have left among the staff are the coach and the strength coach and medical staff. Have we been getting rid of the wrong people? That is what I am reading out of the article.

For what it is worth I don't think it is Lloyd's fault that the players he recommended and selected have not performed to expectations. Most of them have been asked to play a completely different role than what they were selected for.

Brad Lloyd has got a pretty big promotion.. he’s done a good job.. if he was a dud he wouldn’t be so sort after.. on the weekend Carlton had heaps of first round picks yet couldn’t beat us.. Our draft bargains Lachie Neale, Ed Langdon, Alex Pearce and Sean Darcy took apart all their first rounders.. he will be a big loss especially so close to the draft
