There simply HAS to be a trigger point, irrespective of contractural stuff.... I know if I went and completely stuffed up the operation I run, it would not take long for the 'powers to be' to frogmarch me out the door, irrespective of the contract I have....

What a sad situation we are in where we are even contemplating that a loss could be on the cards to a team in the position that they are in and the way they are travelling.

Lyon successfully changed the narrative after the bye when we started to get smacked - wins are no longer our key KPI. They are his words.

If you analyse all the narratives spewed out since 2011 and put them down on a page you'd see how laughably contradictory they have been. Sustained success, to re-stump, to rebuild, to no excuses, to win/loss not a key KPI.

Once the umpires stopped being Carton’s 23rd, 24th & 25th players - we took control of the contest.

Sure there were some sloppy frees that we gave away but Carlton were just as sloppy - the difference being we were penalised for our sloppiness and they weren’t in the first half.

The forwards worked well together and there was some excellent i50’s that lead to scoring shots.

Brady Grey is a keeper and we are a better side with him in. SS did some good things on debut and I thought Nyhuis worked into the game nicely.

Hopefully Fyfe gets back for next week and we give Geebung a run for their money.

Careful Jason, it is the way we play, not the umpiring. Interesting however that when the umpires paid things both ways after half time, we were in the game with a winning chance.
