I wish the young man a speedy recovery.

He’s an amazing person. His family should be immensely proud of him. As a Freo supporter I’m very proud of the way AB has handled himself in coming out to speak about this extraordinary event that has happened to him. The pain is clear for all to see but I’m sure this young man has a special resilience to overcome adversity and become a great person. He shows great maturity beyond his years.

When he returns to the field of play, whenever that may be, the Freo faithful will embrace him like no other.

I appreciate that the horse has bolted with this topic but it’s hard to ignore the penalty imposed after watching that video. The victim has had to have his jaw realigned and is likely to have dental problems for the remainder of his life. The perpetrator has to miss 8 games of footy. Not 8 weeks in jail, not 8 weeks banished from the club, not 8 weeks salary, but 8 games of running around an oval kicking a footy. That doesn’t stack up.
