Sorry CA, but I’ve just had a look at the AFL injury lists and we do not have an overly lengthy one - certainly not in comparison to other teams.
Have a look at Collonwood, GC, Carlton or GWS if you want to see long lists including plenty of soft tissues. We’re about average with 11 blokes listed and the only ‘new’ one this week is S.Hill and he’s been in and out all year with similar problems.
Spurr has been dealing with a chronic knee injury for years and unfortunately it may have won out and I doubt we’ll see him on the paddock again.
But like most things in footy - it’s not the quantity but the quality and we have up to 9 first choice players in the stands. In a rebuilding side with little to no cover for most of those guys, we’re forced to keep playing young kids who are hitting the wall.
