Brayshaw was on his way to a Rising Star nomination today despite the team loss. He sadly wont get the opportunity again this year and has been an amazing first year player.

The rising star award is a joke. It is far from fair and either the AFL should dump it completely or do it justice by nominating rising stars on a meritorious basis rather than an one-per-week and let's share it around concept.

The AFL's rising star award is a cheap concoction - a bit like an "ice confection" compared to gelato.
