I think he wants to come home. I'm thinking only Hodor gets it done this year because they are dead keen on a ruckman but so are we. Thats the only chance this year.. I say if they can get him done for Hodor go for it. Kelly looks special and could transform us into a dominate midfield

It is impossible to reconcile how good he is with the fact that every club pays hundreds of thousands of dollars to people to identify talent, and yet he was overlooked entirely in five straight drafts. He is at least better than the first player drafted in four of those five drafts (possibly Lachie Whitfield is on a par with him).

It would be terrific to be able to calculate how many dollars from each of my 11 match day tickets for the year is spent on recruiters.

Anyway, good luck to him, he is terrific to watch.

It's not quite that simple Polly. The question could be framed as: is 6 or so years of Kelly better than however many years we get from Cerra? Could be one or two and a trade, could be 12. Kelly is a very good player, but I'm not sure if he's going to be twice as good as Cerra.

Kelly is a great story, and anyone who saw him in the state game against the Vics would have loved to have seen in purple, but before you throw rocks at the club, I'm not sure anyone here would have taken him with a top 5 pick. Not having a second round pick meant he would have needed to make it through to the third round. He didn't.

Kelly won’t be staying in Geelong. It’s whether his preferred club is Freo or the Slime. Comparing Kelly to Cerra or another 18 year old is unfounded. We’ve had a few mature age recruits like Barlow et al who were a revelation. I see Kelly in the same mould .
