Yeah, they were pretty bad. Inaccurate kicking and flooding the bombers defence limited the damage on the scoreboard but we were getting belted for most of that game.

We were never going to win the midfield battle against Essendon but it doesn’t mean we weren’t competitive. This whole mentality that you have to dominate the midfield to win games of footy is flawed. More often than not the team that wins most of the ball will in the middle win but if your defence and forwards are doing well then you can still get beaten in the middle and win games of footy.

Walters deserved at least 1 vote. Maybe if he played in the middle for 4 quarters he could have been BOG but we still would have lost in the end and maybe by more.

Well actually I am on the same wavelength with Jezza to a degree in that I think our squad will build quite nicely and we should be very competitive next year and beyond.

But I’m still not sold on the way we setup and play the game a lot of the time. As of today if it were up to me to change the coach I would say we should purely because results show we can be picked apart to easily. Opposition have figured us out for a while now and Clarkson had us figured out years ago.

We have 3-4 years to get it right while we have Fyfe, hills, Walters and others at the peak of their game and it would make we sick to see it wasted.
