We seem to be very good at producing very average 50 game players.
Is that list management/poor draft selection, or is it our lack of focus on skills, or, is it the game plan ???
Or have we just been unlucky?
The Sheridens Sutcliffes, Tuckers and Hughes -add Crozier should -by now - be our 50 -100 game 'depth players' making reliable and substantial contributions to the game. I'd say Mcarthy should be offering a lot more for his 53 games as well...
Langdon, Blakely and A Pearce are filling that brief, but weve struggled with the others. Perhaps Lachie Weller could have been added to the 'successes' group. Tabs is probably just sneaking in there now as well....
To be strong a team needs "depth players'. We have a couple of stars...a few old warriors - some leaving imminently. And then we have a heap of 'less the 25 gamers'.
The group in the middle is what we are missing...and we are 3 or 4 seasons away from having a solid group of 80 + game players....
