And yet it’s ok to single out Sheridan, Sutcliffe, Kersten and Matera. All players with much less invested in them than McCarthy.
I don’t understand what he had done to earn a recall and why he wasn’t played forward at Peel. I was hoping he could go back and get some consistent performances at the lower level to build on before coming back to the top level.
Matera had a shocker with his skill level yesterday and it was below AFL standard, prior to that his output was at least equivalent to Ballas. Sutcliffe and Sheridan IMO both have had more impact in the games that they have played than Tucker.
My primary beef with McCarthy is the leeway and justifications given to him by many on here for sub par performances that is not extended to others.

Quite simply....Cam needs the same treatment Tabs got. Go back to Peel dominate the game as a forward and then come back in with confidence. Some saw that as harsh with Tabs...but it worked I reckon.

Sounds like they did that for five weeks with Cam but relented due to a severe shortage of numbers.

I'm really worried that we are 'feeding the beast' by bringing him back to early.

Didnt get to his trade from GWS, so decided to walk out on them. Doesnt like being down at Peel, so doesnt show up with effort on game day.

Think he needs a sustained period of 'you need to do this and that, achieve these goals in the WAFL, and fight your way back into this team. '

And lets see if hes got the 'want' and nous to do that.

Still, with Jones showing some ability to make a contest, do we need Cam down there?. Obviously, if Hodor is injured, Jones might have to ruck a bit more...but hopefully Sandi is back.

Either way...Cam Mac back to Peel and give Meek or Strndcia an opportunity in these last few hames to see what they've got.

Statements such as he is not a key position player. Rolys game plan the reason he can’t impact.
Kersten kicked one less goal than him last year and his card has been marked. My reference was directed towards Dockerlanders not the club in this instance.

Yes, I'll put my hand up - I'm much more inclined to grant Cam as much leeway as he needs. T-bone kinda rubs me the wrong way (in a Jack Whats manner), but he's been really giving it his best and he's getting there. There isn't anyone at the club I object to at all in the playing group.

Outside of the players - and Mzungu who is doing a ripper of a job on game day - I would like to scoop up with a front-end loader and dump in the bloody dump. President, Bored, CEO, coach and coaching staff (except for Rodger) and all the pr twits.

Cam's a favourite and I'll even defend his sort of moustache if need be.

Yeah but can you defend his haircut? I'm not sure if you can claim a patent or trademark on a hairstyle - my guess is you can't - but whomever styled Tina Turner's hair for Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome should be considering that question and Cam's haircut very closely right now.

Thinking about his haircut, I think the message to Cam is clear.

We don't need another hero,
We just need another way to goal
All we want is life beyond the Rolyball

I was waiting at a bus stop drinking a wheat grass shake, and I got talking to a transgender individual and they were telling me that McCarthy has a neighbour, who's got cancer and 8 children (it was 9 but the remaining 8 learned how to swim in time).

She doesn't have much but her grand father, who fought in both world wars and spent the rest of his life volunteering at an orphanage for injured puppy dogs, died and left her his only possession of any worth - a moustache wax shop.

She was too proud for charity so he grew the moustache and is now a regular customer, buying far more than he needs which he tells her he uses to slick back his hair while playing football.

So you say what you like about Cameron McCarthy's moustache but all I see is a good man doing a what he can to help a fellow human being, even though he knows he looks ridiculous.
