I left the ground thinking the umpiring had been ok, and sure enough we won the free kick count pretty convincingly. So I think the umps probably did favour us a bit.

You mean in our favour when Stephen Hill knocked it forward by a fast foot ricochet in a three player contest and ran on as the ball beat him out of bounds that was paid deliberate then the free kick was marked by a port player (after a fairly feeble spoil attempt from Langdon) who goaled?

This was probably the worst of the deliberate calls.

The only thing that could definitely have prevented the final outcome would have been to tackle poorly and let go.

The fact that the tackle was good - unexpected by Gray since Freo's takling has been so meek and mild in 2018 - resulted in him not being able to get away easily when he tried.

I'm not condoning flinging people's heads into the dirt with the intent of doing damage at all, but this is not what Nyhuis did.

Port medical report, as given to AFL.com, should see Nyhuis clear to play.

Gray was knocked out by a Ryan Nyhuis sling tackle in Sunday's nine-point loss to Fremantle at Optus Stadium.
The 30-year-old returned to Adelaide with his Power teammates on Monday afternoon.

"At this stage, he pulled up really well," Power assistant coach Brendon Lade told reporters.
"After the game, he was eating and he was fine, he didn't have a headache at all.
"He'll be assessed on Thursday or Friday."
"The positive news is Robbie is fine, he's had no ill effects so far and hopefully he'll be fine for selection.

If Christian has studied the incident hard enough to get Wilson twice, why hasn't he cited Dixon for the kick to Nyhuis? Or is there a different rule for Freo players.

It would seem so, where was Commetti's indignation and righteousness when Franklin drove an elbow into the head of an opponent? Why is Commetti not blaming the AFL for the fact that there is a concrete surface 2 meters over the boundary line at the ground.
