I like how they're going... Hodor is only getting better with the game time and showing glimpses of what he can do. Jones is an honest player who just works within his limitations. The more he plays the better for me... I think he's a bit like Apeness in having an appetite to improve at this level.

Overall skill level frustrating for supporters of both teams and some of the endless criticsm of Freo's skills have to acknowledge it's not just our team struggling. It's the nature of the way the game's played to reduce teams like this and there is already room in the rules for the umpires to run the game more favourably to skills use.

Look...I reckon Jones went ok.

Yep...he’s no star, ...he’s a bit unco and slow, but geez, he seems to be able to get into position and provide a tall target. He dropped a couple, but well...he’s no orphan there!

Took a decent under pressure grab, and more importantly, showed he could kick a pressure goal.

I think he should stay down there for a while...especially if he has a penchant for grabbing ‘em, and, especially given that we are unlikely to see the Sandi-Hodor combination this year.

What I liked was when the ball went deep into our forward line we had first hands to the footy not allowing easy defensive marks.

And - whilst this is not the thread for it - it was great to see backliners go for their marks. Ryan was back to playing HIS game. And he chanced his armand took that great grab!
There was a bit of stupidity in the 1st quarter,where no attempt of marking was made in preference to the spoil, but something different happened after quarter time, and I hope it stays that way hereon after....

We're running out of ruckmen and who would've thought that Jones could be the man next week against Essendon. Something tells me that MJ could be called up next week to help ruck. But I concur, Darcy is going to be something special. I hear Geelong are after a good ruckman.

We would be damned fools to give up Hodor for (i presume) Tim Kelly.
Kelly’s good and I’d love us to have him, but , Hodor is an absolute gem and is absoultely a required player.
No offence to Kelly, but he’s got the freedom of having 3 of the competitions best midfielders manned up on first, before he gets looked at.
We had our chance to get Kelly and blew it. If they want a ruckman, give them Apeness, but hands off Hodor.! Maybe package up Tucker and Apeness,
