Where is the logic in dropping the Ape for a bigger slower player in the wet? Nevermind he had more tackles than everyone last week except S Hill and Brayshaw, impressive from a forward who rarely saw the ball, he presented and attacked all night long.

Unless he's injured and they have refused to tell us, this is dumb.

not surprised by sutcliffe - players coming in now are being tested to see whether they will be axed at end of season or moulding for trade bait - sutcliffe selection means he is in trouble if he does not perform - others will follow and anyone with the slightest niggle will be classed at injured for the rest of the year

The Ape's been very good as a forward who rucks though. Considering he should only be spending 20% of his time max in the ruck, he's done very well for a bloke who's played 10 games.

Jones spending 20% of his time in the ruck and then going forward has a far worse output. Leading the ruck in his 2 games, he picked up 11 touches total and not many hit outs to back it up. Clearly Darcy has to lead the ruck so I have no idea what they expect Jones to do in the wet that he couldn't do in perfect conditions when given every opportunity earlier.

I understand Jones hasnt shown much for Peel, I havent seen many games. However he was hugely instrumental in our classic win over the Crows only a few weeks back. He provided much needed structure forward of the ball, competed hard and bought the ball to ground. At least we are playing two bona fide ruckman and two bona fide forwards this week. Lets have another look at them. Jones should play every week, if hes a crab with no upside so be it but lets at least have a look at him so we know for sure.
