I thought this would be a perfect game to play Pearce and Johnson on merit and not as a farewell. I understand playing the youth but Fremantle need to stop the bleeding a bit too. Very weak lineup. Port could win by 15 goals if we are not careful.

I can tell you from watching Peel, that on merit, Johnson would not warrant getting a game at AFL level. Pearce is raking in possessions but Bradley Hill showed what the difference is between AFL level and WAFL when he played for Peel.

I agree with Goodie, this Sunday's game would've been a perfect opportunity to bring in Johnno and Danyellerin for a farewell game. They've both earned it - if everyone expects us to get pummeled by Port it would add to the attraction of that marvelously manufactured and assembled (with over 500000bolts or something) multi-light (programmable no less) zip-line ready bridge.

Also, there is a great tradition giving send offs to players against Port Adelaide. I'll always remember Dale Kickett's death march around Subiaco Oval in the rain after we were belted by 80 odd points.

I remember Dales send off and the Port players staying on the field and lead by their captain Matt Primus giving Dale a guard of honour send off.

Dropping Apeness for McCarthy seems a backward step and bringing back Sutcliffe only convinces more that the team is selected by pinning a few names on a dartboard and firing a darts off to see who's in and who's out. What did Kersten do wrong? If there's a grand plan, I can't see it.
