That's a bit prejudiced.

I don't care where a person comes from as long as they can coach a football team and they're not a protestant.

You can’t terminate his contract without paying him for 2019 and 2020. If another club comes knocking you do a deal.

Of course you can Flag, you only have to show that he has not fulfilled his contractual obligations. That should not be difficult given both his and Rosich's media statements over the last 5 years.

I don't think he linked any KPIs to his 'sustained success' clause.

He has promised a flag before his contract is up. He's a funny guy in his own twisted way...

I think Ross has had enough time to reinvent himself, his gameplan and the way he goes about managing his assistant coaches and player...because lets be honest this 'rebuild' is more about rebuilding Ross than our list. The poor results over the period have resulted in draft picks and talent coming through the door but I dont believe it was ever intended to be like this...but its buying him time to find his way again. He hasnt been able to do this though and that his and the culbs failure.

The 5 year contract should never have happened because we dont need to lock a failing coach away! Theres no easy answer now...they need to either sack him or do a Collingwood/RIchmond type overhaul of ass coaches...wouldnt be surprised if he gets them winning again next year but I genuinely dont want to see them winning the Ross way anymore! I want to see an invigorated game plan and new ideas. His take on players positions and roles is so tired and restrictive....for example, Stephen Hill should be a top 20 AFL player by now but Ross has him role playing. TIme for change, if not Ross then guerra, prior, hale etc

If Ross goes early, then Rosich has to by association. He put all his chips, cheezels and twisties on the table when he brought him over and again when he extended the contract. Must go too.

Why worry about the WAFC and the money - I, and about 40-50,000 others have been paying every week for years. The longer you wait the more we all pay - that's real money, not Cockburn change.

The biggest issue isn't if it's time for Lyon to go or if they can afford to sack him, it's if Freo can attract a decent coach. After the Harvey fiasco, the club already has a reputation for discarding coaches mid-contract and that will only be enhanced if they ditch Lyon.

Which established coach is going to look at our list, then look at our board and think that's a better place to be.

Or which gun assistant if going to think this is the place where I get to set myself up as a long-term head coach

The first thing you'd do is hire people who are good at choosing coaches.

How many of Lyon's assistant coaches have gone on to be AFL head coaches ? My theory is he doesn't like being challenged and surrounds himself with those types who are going to devote their energies to executing his messages. The blokes that don't fit that mould move on.

Do you know who I think could be a seriously good AFL coach, Chris Bond. I am deadly serious.

He'd start with 18 defenders one week then 18 forwards the next week.

If he was any good at his job he would have hired some decent assistant coaches and told Lyon to deal with it.

Perhaps a situation to consider is Carlton being interested in luring Lyon and he is interested in going back to Victoria. It wouldg be a good outcome if a deal could be struck to make it happen so that we don’t have to pay out money for 2019 and 2020.

Also if Cerra wants to go back to Victoria we could trade him for pick 1 and use it to get the best goal kicking key forward in the draft.

If Carlton were genuinely interested in Lyon we should offer to pay half his salary for them to seal the deal.
