If any 18 year old comes into an AFL system plays through the midfield on the back of a modified pre season for 16 games of the type of football we and the game requires then r = -.9999 as a correlation to breaking down.

Or it smells like @#$% and therefore it probably is @#$%.

I guess you're not going to worksafe as a footballer who pulled a muscle whilst playing football. I was making a point about what a kid can and can't do the way this game is being played and what the worst case risk of that might be if they get hurt doing something they're bodies just can't cope with at this point in today's litigious world.

I think Paul Roos basically agrees with you Hypen and he has been a long term advocate of simply raising the age by either one or two years.
It wouldnt stop everyone getting injured but would allow young athletes, many of whom are actually still growing to finish up and have a chance at it. Griffen Logue I think originally did a growth plate in his foot.
I could live with seeing Brayshaw, Logue, Cerra etc do an extra year at Peel.
Some of these guys dont even play in the seniors at WAFL level, they basically come straight in. I think Logue only played 12 or 18 league games!

Zones between the end of a bone and the body of the bone where all the growth basically occurs. Just having a growth plate injury means in essence you havent stopped growing. The growth plate just calcifies in once youve stopped growing.
