Thank god The Wiz played for us when he did.
As much as I'd love him to be playing for us now,it'd be sad to see him fitting in the backline, having to fist it on every occasion, or boot it down the line to a contest, or be constrained to the 'freedom' of only being allowed to switch across half back, and not be allowed forward of centre.
It'd be like now seeing Hilly stuck in the backline - constrained and lifeless - and his brother Bradley - who's whole carreer has been defined by his ability to attack from the wing - being turnxed into a 'defending wingman' (as Gerard and Dermie both noted and described on the weekend. )
Just sad!
The Wiz is the perfect example of a player being able to "go with his head" and have the freedom to use his God given talents how he saw fit.
And geez did he use them!!
And geez I miss seeing him play! What great highlights!
....those were the days....!
