I'm all for playing the kids but you have to be teaching and instructing them, transforming them into better players.

In Giro's first few games, he looked to give short handballs to teammates under a lot of pressure which didn't work very well. He had good speed and agility but didn't use it often enough to get himself out of trouble as you'd expect a smaller raunner with good ball use to do.

Tonight, the vast majority of his possessions have been that short handball to someone in a worse position with his back to goal. I have no doubt he's working hard to get the footy but he needs better instruction in regards to what to do when he finds it. Almost every handpass has been as above, to someone in a much worse position, 2m away from where he is and it's something he has to vastly improve on. He has pretty good awareness and game sense normally so I'm not sure why it's such a weakness but someone needs to have a chat with him about it.

Giro would really benefit from transferring to a side that plays with a forward line in place, to incentivise his kicking abilities (he is a very good left foot kick.)

It’s less about teaching and more about learning. I think the more games these guys play the better.
If you continually short handball to a player that gets hammered then I reckon you might learn pretty quickly that is not a good idea.

It was a really dumb and disorganised effort tonight. An inability to draw the man, to pass to advantage, to not get sucked to the ball, players not run to the same spots and as always to get forward and in the right spot.

Ive felt at times some of us are too quick to point fingers at coaching after a loss. Not tonight that was awful.

The comments on Lyon and the team were bizarre at the end, at one point as Healey was commmenting on how much we have to look forward to, as he was saying it, Melbourne transitioned the ball from one end of the ground to the other without us touching it.

Once the team was to old so they sacked the best of them now there to young ?

They are making things up as they go , try this try that with no idea about what they are doing it seems .
