After the one-off stunt pulled last year, somehow trading Lachie Weller for way beyond his true value, it's unlikely Freo's fringe players will attract much attention. The other clubs will have taken note of Weller's shite efforts and impact at GC, and view the potential of Dockers squad members, and the snake oil salesmen who negotiate for the club, with appropriate wariness and caution.

I’ve seen a fair bit of him playing for the Coast and he is going at least as well as he was at Freo. He is going to be a good player for them - perhaps not what you might expect for a No 2 draft pick swap but very very handy all the same.
A good guy from all accounts and I kinda wish he was still at Freo but understand why he is not.
Don’t bag the guy - he doesn’t deserve it.

Crozier starting to do OK at the Dogs too and now a regular. Half back is definitely his go. Didn't get many chances here I guess. He's combining well with JJ running and carrying off the backline. Taking some good marks as well. I'm pleased for him.

I didn't intend to bag Weller. He's struggling to make a big impact in a poor team. That's to be expected. I would much prefer to see him at Freo still. But I think we can all agree that he's a bloke that plays his role in a team and does a good job, without necessarily being a game-changer. Yet, somehow, Freo persuaded GC into believing he was something more, or else why would they have given up a round 2 draft pick for him? My point is, that's a coup that the club is unlikely to successfully pull off again. At least not this season.

Not so sure that Freo did any convincing that Weller was something that he wasn’t. Weller was the rare footballer: he wanted to go to GC as opposed to other players who they’ve lost and are likely to lose in the future. Were they happy to give up pick 2 for Weller? No, they weren’t, but that was Freo’s asking price and Freo stuck to it.

Still think that GC was happy to give up Pick 2? Watch this. It’s still one of the funniest videos I’ve ever seen in my life.

And I believe Clayton is now the recruiting guru at the Slime. You’ve got to hand it to Lloyd though, he was as calm as Barrack Obama during his reign as US president. So now having kept a close eye on this year’s draft potential, it’s clear that Ian Hill should joined his cousins at Freo. It’s a no brainer.
