As a regular Thunder attendee i can honestly say this guy is not AFL standard , he struggles to even take a mark at Peel and was beaten hands down in marking contests in the forward line by a 21 yr old kid on saturday
Stranadica is a much better prospect both in ruck and as a forward, so ii`am gobsmacked when Roly keeps bringing up his name in his pressers
Sorry but if Roly sees Jones as a good footballer no wonder we are struggling to improve
PS/ he is also holding back Meek who continues to impress in the seconds and is a better prospect than Jones who at 7 foot tall cant even take a mark

Also need to add Hodor is ready to go for Darwin, kicked three goals in the first half, did run out of puff after half time but will be fitter for the run
The other player to do well was Dumin who looks to be concerntrating on playing attacking rebound footy
North played a little bit better so the break worked for him, Ethan Hughes looks million dollars but doesnt have enough impact, Crowden tried hard but couldnt get into the game

Jones has played 2 AFL games so far. Didn't look completely out of place so I'm not sure where the statement "not AFL standard" comes from. Sure, he's no world beater and Darcy is a better option, but surely he didn't embarrass himself in those 2 games.

I have no doubt that if chosen, he will give his all for the team.

Well for a start he's a ruckman who has been forced to play at CHF as Apeness and Darcy have been the preferred ruck options. Then Meek plays reserves and Strnadica who was last year being mentored by Sandi is now playing at FF.
Personally I think it was wasted recruiting dfafting so many ruckmen.

The guy is only 23, is a local bloke and should have a lot of upside potential. Needs a couple of pre-seasons under his belt and a few games to boot to tune into the AFL pace.

They got real short on rucks after cutting two experienced players, panicked then over compensated.

To an earlier point, they needed to keep Griffin or Clarke and Darcy and that would have been ok. Those picks on Meeks and Jones whilst latish picks were wasted ones and we are not in a position to waste picks.

The game I saw him play he did a couple of intelligent, team orientated things. Don't throw him out with the bathwater and he could be okay. Max Gawn took a while to develop too.
