Oh no, not the, draft the KPP again syndrome. We ain’t got time to develop another KPP. Go and get them from another club. There’s a couple of Govs, then the Hogan boy, and why not Alir Alir. We’ve also got Cox, Apes ( because apparently he’s not a ruckman) Tabs and a couple of others down at Peel. I think we’ve filled all the holes that needed to be filled. Send our first rounder elsewhere and bring home a gun. It’s time.

Yes Jezza, we've done so well recruiting KPP's the past decade, it's a breeze.

You have to draft them unless you are going to pay way over the top for a KPF and even then, they're probably going to be an average one for a club not to hold onto them tightly. Mitch McGovern who is barely a KPF and more a good marking mid sized player will cost an arm and a leg and never be worth whatever Adelaide's asking price is. Nor would he solve our KPF problems.

Jeremy is an OOFTIT who is never coming over so the speculation is a mute point except for driving up the amount the OOFTIT's are going to pay for him.

Hogan is a bloke we've spent the past 8+ years trying to lure home without success and demonstrates the incredibly high asking price pretty well. We'd have to screw ourselves over to tempt him out before free agency so put a line through him until then.

Our current line up of tall forwards are young and raw. They've shown glimpses but not the superstar KPF a club tends to need. You need more than what we have at the moment and the draft is the best way to get it. We have plenty of mids and it's been proven time and again, you can pick up very good rookie mids and role players later in the draft. You can only get good talls at the top end unless you have academy/father son picks.

We're lucky enough to have picks around there in a year where tall players are standing out and looking amazing. It would be dumb and incompetent not to get one.

When someone makes a bid for Carter, we have the option to match that bid by using the points any remaining selections we have equate to. I think they also brought in something to do with having a pick relatively close to the bid position, maybe within a round of the bid but I'm not able to look it up atm.

Unfortunately for us, we have no picks worth anything except our first so our best bet is that he slips down the order which looks likely at this stage.

They introduced points deficit, so if a bid came that meant we had to match with say 1000 points, but we only had picks worth 200 points if we elected to match the bid we would have -800 points, which would come off our 1st pick the following year, bumping it down the order, that’s why we need to get back into the second or third round this year.
