At the risk of sounding tangential - shouldn’t we be trying to trade into/up to the early rounds of the draft - There’s at least three GUN tall forwards for the taking that are unlikely to fall to our likely first pick. We would desperately like one of Lukosios or the King brothers. Rather than looking who to trade in, I’m curious to know who we’d be willing to trade OUT. Mundy, Sandilands, Johnson are the top of the age bracket and possibly worth releasing in the name of the “rebuild” but it seems to me they’re worth more to us as players than as trade bait - not too many clubs will offer a first round pick for any of them (though they may upgrade our first rounder to an earlier first rounder, but that would seem to undervalue those players). Is it worth trading out one of our second string forwards in the pursuit of a pick that MIGHT net us a superstar forward? Is it better to have Cox now or a punt at the next Ben Brown/Buddy Franklin with no guarantee that they’ll actually become the hero that they could be. Not sure where I stand.
Is there any way we can get Gold Coast to guarantee T-Bone a spot on their list?
