TOPIC: WTF... What the Fyfe, part ii

All this talk of embiggening seems to have everyone flustered.

I know 150 games is a noteworthy achievement, but who at Docker central thought it would be appropriate to detail Nat's embiggening in perpetuity, with frost bite, on manchester by some dubious sock embroidery?

Check that thing between his muscular legs.

It makes me feel a bit ill (and inadequate).

I know camera angles sometimes lie, but they aren't much better side-on.

Looks like the Fyfe-Nicnat hybrid.

Where's the narrative around this?

I’ve been waiting patiently for months for a sock-based post to air a personal grievance with the club store. The players wear purple socks that have a Freo logo and an AFL logo on them. I quite like having warm feet at the football, and footy socks are pretty warm, so I purchased some Fremantle Dockers Home Socks from the team online shop. When they arrived I was disappointed – shocked even – to discover they have neither logo, and are instead just plain old purple socks.

I notice that the online store now has a disclaimer about the missing logos, but I’m pretty sure that wasn’t present at the time.

My question before I lodge a complaint with the ACCC, has anyone else been stung by the Home Sock scam?

Oh no my purple and white hoop footy socks have just run out of steam and I was looking to buy some new ones. Are you saying these are not even proper footy socks, Morgan?

People see these things as trivial matters.

The bigger picture reveals rotten things at the heart of management.

Because somewhere, somehow, someone with responsibility looked at this stuff, ticked a box, signed the paper and said "yeah, let's run with that!"

DJKL, they are normal footy socks. Like, if you went into Jim Kidd and said ' can I please have some generic purple footy socks?', and they gave you these, you'd be sweet.

But they are not Fremantle Dockers Home Socks. The only thing they have in common is they are both purple and footy socks, which is a fair bit in common when you think of it, but not all-the-way-the-same. They're not even really the same colour purple, for example.

In the age where clubs a constantly flogging 'on field' products, it's weird they can't seem to sell on field Fremantle Dockers Home Socks, but can smoosh Fyfe's noggin onto a pair of socks and try to flog those.

Are you sure you bought "socks" and not some Beanie or Peter warmer?

I skipped the socks and went straight for the stubby holder. But I can't remember if I bought a left handed stubby holder or right.

Expat, there is a simple test for your situation. Lefty loosey - If you have to open your stubby with a bottle opener, then you have a right handed one. If you have a left handed one you will always be able to unscrew the top off your beer. Simple! problem solved.

People may think Morgan is being silly carrying on about socks. No way Jose - do you know Buddy is the only Sydney player to play with both socks fully up? What does that say to you - there's something besides feet in a pair of socks.
