Fremantle is offering a member prize to attend either the 2018 or 2019 Grand Finals, with the winner selected from all of the members who attend the club’s remaining six homes games for 2018.

If the Eagles continue their current run, the Round 23 game might be empty. It's not worth the risk of being drawn out the winner.

In the event that happens you could always sell the ticket at a grossly inflated price to a dumb and desperate budgie supporter.

You could probably ask 10 times what it is worth so the act of ripping them off would bring some satisfaction, especially if they were to be flogged on the day.

Sooooo we're celebrating 55000 members, but can only get 37000 at home when we were undefeated by a travelling side. A full 1/3 of members couldn't be arsed attending the game. Anyone would think that they're trying to get the attendance (and membership) levels up by tempting eagles supporters with the chance of a cheap GF ticket. 6 game packages start at $275 if anyone was wondering.

Or maybe I'm just cynical.

I thought things had probably bottomed out for Fremantle this year but when Mark Duffield devotes the back page of the paper to our record membership figures (up about 1500 from the last time he wrote the article) then it means something bad is about to happen.

Sunday arvo is clearly the worst timeslot.

If you are part of Freo HQ, and your club's home games were moving from the most rundown stadium in the AFL to a bigger, better state of the art new stadium - presenting a one-off opportunity to get good seats with friends at the new digs - where do you reckon you'd put the pass mark for an increase to membership?

I'd suggest a few thousand extra memberships is at the lower end of expectations. That said, aspirations at our club aren't what they used to be.
