So as all of you have definitely heard about, the eagles are on top of the ladder.

But in reality, they have only beaten 2 premiership contenders: Richmond and Port Adelaide.

Non-stop bragging from the eagles fans about how they won the Western derby and how they have won 9 in a row, but they only managed to beat Carlton by 5 and us, halfway through a rebuild by 8!

Their game after StKilda (probably the worst team in the comp right now) is Sydney, who they have lost to before, and they will definitely lose that.

GCS
Carlton
Freo
Port
GWS
Richmond
Hawthorn

They are about to go downhill, with all of their next games being played against all of the top 5 teams.

Much as I hate to say this but they are doing much better than most predicted and they probably won't fall away too much unless they get a bad run of injuries.

They have good defender and good forwards. They are supposed to have a crap midfield but they are outperforming so called better midfields.

Margins don't mean much in the end. Carlton for example have given good teams a struggle, so I wouldn't use small margins as an example of how they are not that good

Where they might fall away is when the pressure steps up in the finals but unlike us, they can expect to play finals. Lets not pretend they aren't going well just because they're a bunch low life scumbags

It's an interesting post Brayshaw8. What I have noticed is they never play anyone good away. Sydney, Richmond, Adelaide and Melbourne away.

Their form will continue, look at their draw. They will lose 3 more games for the rest of the year and finish on top. They will get two home finals and go into the GF.

I actually don't mind them anymore, they play great attacking football their players aren't dickheads and their coach is a decent bloke.

They've absolutely pantsed us in every facet of football both on and off the field for the past four years. Can only shake my head in disbelief that their developing WAFL tall forwards playing for East Perth are better than our starting talls.

Their supporters aren't getting better though.

They won't go all the way because they don't win against good teams when they travel but thats because they grow up reliant on soft frees when the going gets tough.

Other than that, they are pretty well for a team with a so called dud midfield and a so called dud coach

I am not about to click "you beaut", but have to agree with your sentiments in general. That's hard to say as wife and daughter are wce fans. We could nullify by getting Mcgovern next year. Wishful thinking on a par with Lyon suddenly resigning. (Not re-signing)

I'm one of those West Australian people who support two teams. Freo and whoever is playing the eGurls.

The eGurls have had a fantastic start to 2018 because so many of their players have improved from 2017. Darling is a standout, but also look at the form of Cripps, Waterman, Barrass, Lycett, Sheppard, Redden, Yeo and LeCras. Throw in Niknat and a very wise pickup of Rioli and you have a team performing very well.

But, as you point out, they haven't had to face the wrath of power clubs away from home. That has been to their advantage. This has allowed the eGurls to bed-down their team and their game plan. I badly want the eGurls to fail, but 2018 is just panning out brilliantly for them. They will face the top teams with players in form and team structures in place. The eGurls will go deep into the AFL finals.

Let's be clear. I want every single one of them to suffer a career-ending knee injury and, for good measure, have the club deregistered from the AFL.
