After noticing a Worst (left on train honestly!) and opened at pages 86/87 am now really disappointed in the dropping of our indigenous players for this particular round. For those who haven't managed to pick up a paper in a taxi or somewhere a brief summary follows:
A picture of the 1974 WA Aboriginal team that played at Manuka oval and coached by Harley Bennells grandfather, included names like Hayden x 2, Yarren, Narkle x2, Richard Walley, Kevin Hill, John McHenry (uncle to Jonno and Hills), Bennell x 2, Collard, Woods, Garlett, Headland and several others. Several of these men were invited to our Club this week which Jonno felt was so special as they were the ones who paved the way for today's players and Roger Hayden felt it was a fitting tribute to the Reconciliation week theme. Jonno looks and sounds so proud then the kick in the guts......... I agree we must go for youth but this week, really! We aren't going to make finals this year so what difference would it make? Sorry but this just isn't my club anymore.
