Wait, so in 2016 when we stopped playing Dutchy, Barlow and co for kids, we weren't going the youth strategy?

And when we stopped playing Spurr, and DPearce (the first time) in 2017 so we could restump, rewire and rebuild we didn't play youth?

And at the start of this season when we were rebuilding and playing all our recently drafted players, were we not playing youth?

I'm glad RL is now going to play youth. Who ever doubted his ability to rebuild a side?!

I remember coming to Dockerland about 15 years ago because this was the one place, when all of Australia thought we were rubbish, that was a fountain of positivity. I remember when even suggesting we axe Connolly earned you an [edited by shane]. Now every conversation with a positive slant gets turned into a slinging match and positive people are openly attacked and slandered. What happened? A glimmer of success, one grandfinal and in the resultant slump we’re all experts deficating from high on our club and slinging the splattering at each other. The displays in here are even worse than those on the field. For shame, brothers and sisters.

If someone, after a disappointing loss or string of disappointing seasons, starts a post telling everyone to settle down because things are great and no one should worry, there will be a counterpoint made to match it.

What I actually would have done in the past is delete larkin's post because I knew how it would turn out - but then I'd have to put up with more posts from larkin calling me various soviet era leaders for the rest of the week.

Positivity is one thing. Blind optimism, another. Too much of the latter is what we're seeing.

To be positive you need to see good things happening, some clear direction and improvement, despite setbacks. There are the occasional good things from a small number of players, but overall things are a mess. There is no skill or structure improvement or direction shown.

Many people are frustrated because patience with Lyon's style and the admin have worn thin. He looks like a man out of ideas, marking time til his contract's up, and wasting some valuable years in the players while he's at it.

Any positivity (Jezza's unique brand aside) is shot down in a torrent of negativity. For every suggestion regarding a good bit of play or otherwise positive sign, there is either a resounding silence or an avalanche of repetitive, patterned long winded posts describing in great detail the poster's personal inner anguish and torment.

There's an over riding narrative. It's not everyone but it's dominating...

I'm no fan of RoLy but by now, after years of it, I know his faults as specified by the same small group of posters. I don't need another half page post outlining them.

People are bending the truth to make a point or worse, seeing things that aren't there.
