How do people rationalise all this, based on the kids? Where's the game plan, besides throw numbers behind the ball and run forward like buggery if it looks like we're in possession? Where is the skills improvement?

Have you not been watching the leaders and old heads of this team? They are unzipped. If they were well coached and confident in their "program", they would be leading the way.

They're not. They're lost and lacking belief and confidence. I highly doubt that is due to 4-5 kids getting regular games.

But hey, if you need a life raft to cling to, that would be the one.

For those that have called to play all the youth, you look like getting what you want. I hope you are right and all the enthusiasm and lack of being regimented to Lyons game plan results in a much improved performance, more likely we will see why a certain number of older players have been named each week.

Some of our leaders and old heads arent leaders and never were and are playing like the Bethany old heads first 18. That's the difference between a Hawks, Cats glory years type outfit that had quality across the ground and plenty of class. We've never had that but this group may take us somewhere good.

The potential for positive change in the next few years is there.

Noddy, Drubbing nailed it, the leaders have to be allowed to lead, and at the moment their heart is not in the game. Sure, blame the players, but most of them would walk into any other side in the comp. Look at the pre season when players were let off the leash. We were a free-wheeling , high scoring machine. Sure the opposition had players out, but so did we, the difference was that because the coaches box don't rate the pre-season, they don't really hold the players accountable to the game plan that they believe is necessary to win the real comp. The wonder of it is that they have not realized the difference in what is happening out there. Or did they just not watch the pre-season, did they let the player leaders run the show?

A Pearce in all Australian form
Sandi a rock in the ruck playing as well as possible with minimal support because "we don't play 2 rucks"
Neale ok down a bit last game but usually one of our best
B Hill has been injured most of the year.

I can accept the game plan needs work, I can accept the forward line is poor, I can accept the CEO and president are missing in action

BUT don't give me tge leadership group aren't leading by example, they are among our best each week.

Quasi, they are playing OK, but they are not being given the license to lead the team by playing the game as it appears in front of them, and by this I don't mean what is downfield at any one moment, but by being given free reign to adjust what they are doing on field when "plan A" is not working, because the opposition is not playing the way they are supposed to. Leadership is about doing those things, but in the Lyon coached team there is only room for 1 leader.

People compare us with WC if we had Darling and Kennedy in our current line up we would be doing ok
The hawks were bombing it in last week and I saw Darling taking marks on the half back line sound familiar?
