JeeezzZZus. With a bit off luck and some off those worst umpire decisions going our way on Saturday
we wouldn't be having a meltdown of Woe is Me posts! Toughen Up!
Plus the goals we missed. And the kicks that went straight to North. Plus the....

Sorry to spoil a good narrative King but we won the qualifying final against Sydney in 2015 then lost the preliminary at home to the hawks. It was 2014 we went out in straight sets, this was when Lyon realised his game plan was too taxing for a travelling side to maintain and formulated the “take the grass” style to defend the game, unfortunately it became more of a “kick backwards and sideways until we turn it over” game plan that not only looked horrible to watch but was equally unsuccessful, for some reason he still can’t adjust to the fact that other teams will let you win the congested ball by holding their defensive structure because they know we’ll just kick it to them anyway and they can rebound easily from our sparsely filled forward line.
I personally can’t possibly see how he can’t see what’s happening every week, which is why I am in the “give anyone but Ross a go” camp.

I watched a replay tonight and the reversal of the CamMac kick for goal when Mundy ruffled up a Norf players hair and the Hamling oversight were indicative of why we get stitched up in momentum shifting moments. Pav is disappointingly silent on some of these matters.

Why was it reversed Noddy? I had the pleasure ofd watching the game in a bar without the sound which is great most of the time. In this case I just had no idea what happened.

Actually - you answered a few minutes before I asked it. So Mundy off the ball?

Then 2016 arrived just like 2007 - high hopes that came crashing back to earth. A list suddenly too old, too slow. Chris Connolly resigned in 2007, something that most people here think Ross Lyon should do. In the two years after CC left, we finished 14th and 14th.

Are you saying 2016-2017 have been any better than 2007-09? It doesn't seem like it to me.

Noddy, with McCarthy about to take the shot, you are in the Jezza camp if you think that turnover cost us a certain goal.

RM, I'm not saying that 2007 - 2009 were any better or worse than 2016 - 2018. I'm just saying that people tend to forget how bad we were, and how getting a new coach didn't save us then, and won't save us now.

Look, how about I put it like this? I support Fremantle, watch a lot of footy, and still enjoy watching every other team except for us. Even the goddamn screaming fowl.

Our style is joyless. Has been for far too long.

Purplekit's on the money re: other sides holding their structure against us and not dragging extra players in around the contest.

Often we have an extra 1-2 players around the stoppages and win the ball in heavy traffic, only to turn it over to a side that has its players in the right positions behind the ball.

They can then quickly spread and find free players through the midfield, as our scrum from the previous contest struggles to catch up.

These players then have the time to hit up a forward lace out, time that we rarely seem to have when going into forward 50.

Scoring off turnovers is the major source of scoring in today's game. And we seem to get scored against off turnovers alot.

I don't have the stats to back this up, but it seems that the correlation between winning the clearances and winning the game is not as strong as it used to be.

RR, I think a lot of the noise here is coming from us that do remember 07-09, and the late 90's early 00's. We are stunned that the ship has not changed course over the last 4 years, even though with GPS and modern mapping , all the rocks and shoals are clearly marked.

I always remember the AGM where HARRIS and ROSICH stated in public that the club would never leave Fremantle oval. The day they changed their mind showed true colours. Fremantle missed the chance to preserve story and place at Fremantle Oval.

My family joined the dockers in 1994 as foundation members...as did my mum and dad, sister and brother in law and collectively since that day we've put into the club over $100,000 in membership fees...It almost appears as though this hierarchy is starting from scratch again with it's core business of being a football club...This team is no longer competitive with the other AFL teams....It is obvious to blind freddy that we do not have a decent spine from full back to fullforward and the recruiters and coaching staff appear disinterested in winning or losing at this time in our history...Our players seem to lack ferocity in attacking the ball or opposition player in possession of the ball....The money put into the club in membership fees alone over 24 years for our 13 family members( not including my dad & brother, who have passed away) have been wasted over our time as members....FFS draft or acquire footballers who want to succeed and clean up the rabble overseeing the football dept that are dragging our club into an never ending abyss....
