If you want to know what it's going to look like, just watch the last 15 minutes of today's match again.

Not really. We're allowed to play another ruckman.

But yes it hurt today.

The MRP's view of that incident will be interesting (read: potentially typically disappointing). Head clash from intentional bump, and his name is not Buddy

Yeah, with a few players getting off from making high contact the last few weeks the time is right for the afl to remind everyone that if you choose to bump you suffer the consequence. Oh and also the head is sacrosanct , can't forget that bit.

I would have thought, one week if at all, but surely not "life"?

You have a less jaundiced view of the MRP and tribunal than Matebe, Expat.

Freo o sonearo
I think he’ll get a week, probably need it secondary to concussion and or being over worked anyway
Apeness seems to be the only one almost going, even though he’s not really a ruckman. Although nor is cox, geez it’s grim.

May as well ruck Matera or Balla's, no point in winning the footy in the guts anyway.

Actually, on a more serious note, if Apeness is to come into the side for Sandi, would it be a really dumb idea to play him at full forward, relieving in the ruck* , and play McCarthy as a ruckman? He has a leap, is a very good field kick, has serious pace and would bring some chaos theory to the midfield.

* don't google this phrase.

I thought we recruited Scott Jones as a mature age 23 year old ruckman to fill in if Sandi or Darcy got injured. Yet he is seemingly not even in the frame for a call up. Maybe he is returning from injury or something i am unaware of but his stats this season at Peel, and last season at East Perth, aren’t exactly stellar. Which kind of makes me wonder why Freo recruited him, because I would have thought there were a number of talented ruckmen in the wafl/sanfl/vfl that could have filled a role more than adequately. But hey, they are the professionals.

I agree Goodie I find the recruitment of Jones puzzling, as a 23 year old if he can’t come in now then when will he be right.

So Ross is planning to step up with the youth rebuild plan. Well halleluja brothers and sisters! Duman, Logue, Crowden etc. As far as Sandi goes, I welcome the change. He is a superstar but it's best we get a feel for life without him as much as we can. A mobile competitive ruckman, not having to win every tap, but competing and giving us options around the ground. Let's see how our mids go without the expectation that nearly every ruck tap is ours. Darcy would be perfect with maybe Tabs helping out (it will happen). So when Sandi went down on Sunday, it was not really a glimpse of life after Sandi...was it...really? Injury hits at times and we were not able to cover well. A side this weekend without Sandi, MJ, D Pearc, Ballas, would be an eerie feel, but let's do it! Watch for the enthusiasm and camaraderie to spike!
