Possibly yes.
He was an on ground General for the Hawks and do you think its any coincidence that the WC jellybacks of 2017 are now world beaters in 2018 and blokes like Redden who were Ken Hopeless last year are now doing ok. Mitchells toughened them up and has them playing a harder more confident brand of football or told Simpson what was missing.

I'm just going on record to say that Richmond, who apparently aren't bad at this footy thing, they also kicked the ball to McGovern. So the idea that somehow this is a failing of Ross/Fremantle is misguided.

The reason I think we went ok against WC is partly because they didn't kick straight, and partly because of Sandi in the middle. The number of goals that they get from a clean win in the ruck followed by kick, mark, goal is ridiculous. When we play them again, have two rucks.
