When we cop these beltings the usual thing is to make changes to the side next week. In the last few years Peel have been very strong but this year they look like they will struggle to make the finals.
This is worrying because it appears we lack depth. Particularly when our biggest possession winners each week seem to be Pearce and Sheridan.
Seriously if we are waiting for Apeness to be our forward line saviour we are in more trouble than a one legged man in an arse kicking competition. Yes he's had injury problems but even when fit he can't play a decent game for Peel. Six disposals and 1 mark today and that's a good return.
I also don't understand why we recruited him as a CHF but we have insisted on playing him as a ruckman since returning from injury. Then the opposite of that is recruiting two big lumbering ruckmen, when we already had two, then playing one of them (Meek) in the reserves and the other one(Jones) as a CHF.
People here are calling for North to be promoted but his form has fallen away since the start of the year. Giro and Hughes appeared to play well today. Surely one of them could come in for Crowden.
Strnadica is the other one who appears to deserve a go. He's been kicking goals regularly but heaven help the poor kid trying to work out wtf goes in our forward line.
Then there is Kersten. Recruit him to bolster our woeful forward line which seemed a good idea at the time. But what do we do with him. Send him back to Peel to be a backman-one area where which is one of our strengths and we don't really have any injuries.
And by the way, who would ever have thought a bloke like Tabener would end up being so important to our forward line?
