You always like to bring to notice when a good side is beaten by a lowly side, bringing attention to the good side's coach and how could they be beaten. You also like to say how bad the coaches of those weak sides are, until they beat a good side of course.
We're a lowly side but why is it we haven't we beaten anybody above us? Particularly as you say we have a very good coach.
You also like to say how hard it is to win against a top side with so many young players. Did you check the age of the team Brisbane fielded?

Keep asking, but you don't answer. How long do we put up with this then? Forever and a day, just because it's Roly?
How do you know we would be doomed without him? How do you know we might not be better off?
16 wins from the last 53 games isn't the greatest record to pin your coaching credentials on.

2020, if he’s allowed to get there. What I do know is that the new bloke won’t do it overnight.

Yep, similar to what we're getting now except Roly stated that we would have a premiership. by 2020.

And have you ever considered that he might deliver?

If he gets Fremantle to a premiership in 2020, his victory speech should be "Ta da".

Yes, but that 16 wins from 53 games and the fact that we're seeing little to no improvement have me thinking probably not.
Even if you bring in Hill, Hill and Tabener which brings us to full strength, we were no big threat with all of them at the start of the year.
Can't include Darcy because Roly will only ever play one ruckman so he was just back up for when Sandi had a rest.

Roger,

That was the point I raised earlier. We are not on track to win a flag by 2020. We can't even be sure we will actually play finals by 2020. The signs are not positive

Yeti, have you considered that Ross may be sacrificing current wins for longer term success? And of course you don't necessarily look like you are on track to win a premiership. Richmond didn't look on track. Based on our collective thinking here at the start of the season West Coast weren't on track (and hopefully still aren't).
But I'll say it again, for whatever reason we've got the age structure of our list wrong. Too many nearing retirement and not enough in the 25 - 28 bracket. Its a shame we lost a few promising young players (Weller, Roberton, even Crozier) - a better club would have kept them.

It’s a competitive game, in 2016 Richmond didn’t look like they were near to winning a GF.

Right now with very few injuries the Roos could be the surprise team of 2018, we'll know after Sunday how good they are. They’ve beaten the Swans, Hawks, Giants and only lost to the Tigers by ten points.

Bottom line is if you can’t put near your best 22 on the park for most of the year even the best AFL coach won’t get you into a GF let alone win one.

Roger,

I have considered that of course but I cannot see that we are on the right track when we are getting the fundamentals wrong.

If, we were playing 2 talls forward (of any variety just now) and rotating marking players from the midfield going forward as you would expect and we were losing games, you'd be right in saying that we are doing things right and just need the players to develop. But instead, we are playing a reduced forward line, not practicing effective forward entry tactics, not practicing precise kicking, not practicing leading patterns....in short not doing any of the things we need to be doing to develop those players.

It seems to be a case of wait till they get to 50 games and hey presto, like magic they will suddenly start doing all the things we haven't practiced. Thats why I'm not seeing signs of incipient premiership material

True Noddy and that's why it's worrying for me about Freo. We have had a few injuries, but nothing compared to what we have endured before and similar to a lot of other sides this year.
Plaudits also to Adelaide and Collingwood who have done remarkably well with big injury lists.
